What kind of event suits the COAM?

The COAM is home to the professional association of Madrid's architects, and its venue offer is designed for corporate, institutional and cultural events. Its strength is the combination: three plenary rooms on different floors, all with AV, plus large, bright spaces for exhibitions, catering or networking.

That makes it practical for meetings and seminars with parallel sessions, small one or two-day congresses, presentations with an exhibition area and product launches that need a room plus space to show the product. For companies in real estate, construction or design, the venue adds an obvious professional context.

Getting there

The building is at Calle de Hortaleza 63, in Chueca. Metro stations are Chueca (line 5) and Tribunal (lines 1 and 10), and Gran Vía is a few minutes' walk. The on-site car park makes arrivals easier for speakers and suppliers. For coaches, agree a drop-off point on a nearby main road: the neighbourhood has narrow streets.

Production tips

Plan the route between floors. With plenary rooms on different levels, signage and support staff make all the difference at session changeovers.
Use the bandejas for exhibitions. The Fisac and Gutiérrez-Soto rooms suit sponsor stands or poster sessions.
Book the car park. A hundred spaces in Chueca is a strong selling point for speakers and VIPs. Reserve them together with the rooms.

What pairs well nearby

A stroll along Gran Vía brings you to the Círculo de Bellas Artes, with its rooftop for a closing drinks reception. To accommodate the group, the RIU Plaza España stands at the far end of Gran Vía.

What is the capacity of the COAM main hall?

The 380 m² multipurpose hall holds 300 people theatre-style or 210 for a banquet. The 240 m² auditorium holds 120 theatre-style and 106 classroom-style. Figures from the Madrid Convention Bureau venue sheet.

Can we hold a lunch or drinks reception at the COAM?

Yes. The Sala Oíza has two areas: the larger, at 550 m², takes 250 for a banquet and 370 for a reception; the smaller, at 410 m², takes 190 for a banquet and 150 for a reception.

Is there parking?

Yes. The Madrid Convention Bureau venue sheet lists 100 parking spaces, which is rare in central Madrid.
