What is a gala dinner for?
A gala is far more than a smart dinner: it is the moment when a company addresses its people or its clients with the whole group together and in good spirits. It can celebrate an anniversary, recognise results, close a convention or a congress, thank clients for a year's work or open a new chapter. Once the objective is clear, every other decision, from venue to menu, becomes easier.

Data from the Madrid Convention Bureau venue pages, reviewed in October 2026. Real capacity depends on the set-up: a large stage, a dance floor or a pre-dinner drinks area all reduce the number of tables.
For galas with a less traditional feel, Madrid also offers cultural venues such as Matadero Madrid, the Real Fábrica de Tapices and the Círculo de Bellas Artes. You will find more options in the guide unique venues in Madrid by capacity.

Timings in Madrid are later than in other European countries. With international groups, we adjust the programme so dinner starts earlier without losing the atmosphere.
What you need to know about historic venues
- Timings. Many heritage venues only allow the build once they close to the public, which leaves few hours. We plan fast, modular set-ups.
- Protection. There are usually restrictions on rigging, weight, candles and haze. We get round them with LED lighting and free-standing structures.
- Catering. Some venues work with approved caterers. We check this before proposing the menu.
- Sound. Some venues have limits on volume or on how late music can play. We design the end of the night accordingly.
- Access. We check loading and unloading, accessibility for people with reduced mobility and coach waiting areas.
Food and drink at a gala dinner
Produce from all over Spain arrives in Madrid every day, and contemporary cooking sits alongside Castilian tradition. We suggest menus that respect the rhythm of the gala: dishes that can be served quickly and well to 300 people at once, a wine list with wines from different appellations, including Vinos de Madrid, and a dessert that holds up through the awards. We manage allergies and intolerances with a card system at each table, so nobody has to explain their diet twice.
Galas produced by the team
In Madrid we have produced, for example, two Christmas dinners for Edenred: one with video mapping on the tables at Espacio Harley and another turned into a rock festival, with a live band, at Hard Rock Cafe Madrid. They are part of the more than 100 corporate events the team has organised in the city. In other cities, the group has produced galas such as Noatum's 60th anniversary at the MNAC and Esteve's dinner at the Torre de Collserola, both in Barcelona. You will find them all, each with its real city, under case studies.
What we usually advise
- Choose the venue for the objective, not just the photo. An anniversary calls for emotion; a client dinner, for conversation.
- Keep speeches short. Three brief speeches work better than one long one.
- Rehearse the awards ceremony with names, music and running order.
- Sort out the journey home. Staggered coaches and a coordinator at the exit avoid waiting at the end of the night.
- Look after partners and international guests, who do not always know anyone in the room.
