What kind of event suits the Gallery?
The Royal Collections Gallery opened as a Patrimonio Nacional museum in a contemporary building set into the escarpment below the Royal Palace. For a company it brings three things together: a location with real significance, a modern auditorium and open-air terraces looking out over the Campo del Moro gardens and the sunset.
It suits gala dinners and spring and summer receptions on the large terrace, conferences and presentations in the auditorium, welcome receptions for a congress and incentive travel programmes with a private viewing of the collection.

Getting there
The entrance is on Calle de Bailén, next to Plaza de la Armería. Some spaces have their own step-free access from the Campo del Moro gardens. The nearest metro is Ópera (lines 2 and 5, plus the branch line). Sol is about 15 minutes on foot. For a gala, coaches or cars with a drop-off point on Bailén are the most practical option.
Production tips
- Short time window. With many spaces available only from 9.30 pm to 11.30 pm, set-up, dinner and breakdown need minute-by-minute planning. Request extra hours if you need them.
- Have a plan B for the terrace. The large terrace is outdoors. Hold an alternative indoor space or plan for approved marquees.
- Patrimonio Nacional protocol. This is a state museum: décor, catering and lighting must follow its rules. We go through them on the technical site visit.
What pairs well nearby
On the other side of Plaza de Oriente is the Teatro Real, for a gala with a performance. To accommodate the group, the RIU Plaza España is about ten minutes on foot.
