What events does Rooftop Lírico suit?

A rooftop in the very centre solves a specific need: bringing a group together somewhere with views and atmosphere, without leaving the area where the hotels, theatres and restaurants are. Rooftop Lírico occupies floors 7 and 8 of the Teatro Calderón building, with an indoor floor with a stage and a panoramic terrace. It is part of the Marca Condal venue selection in Madrid (Marca Condal is a company in our group).

We see it as a good fit for client drinks during a congress or a trade show at IFEMA, the closing dinner of leadership meetings, a company party or a product presentation for press and influencers.

Getting there

The venue is at Calle de Atocha, 18, in the Teatro Calderón building, between Puerta del Sol and Tirso de Molina. There is metro at Sol (lines 1, 2 and 3, plus Cercanías) and Tirso de Molina (line 1), a few minutes' walk away. Traffic is restricted on the surrounding streets: for car or coach arrivals we set a nearby drop-off point.

Production tips

Manage the lifts. On a rooftop, moving guests and catering equipment upstairs sets the pace. Stagger arrivals.
Time it to the light. Drinks on floor 8 that start before sunset make the most of the views.
Keep sound in check. In the centre, music volume and hours are limited. We confirm them with the venue.
Use both floors. Drinks upstairs and dinner or a presentation downstairs is a natural format with two connected floors.

How many people does Rooftop Lírico hold?

According to its brochure, the venue has a total capacity of 850 people. Floor 7 takes 470 for a reception, 300 for a banquet, 444 theatre-style and 204 classroom-style; floor 8 takes 400 for a reception and 180 for a banquet. The Madrid Convention Bureau listing gives slightly higher reception figures: we work with the more cautious ones.

What kind of corporate event does it suit?

Client drinks during a trade show or congress, company dinners, product presentations with a stage and team parties in the centre, from small groups to several hundred people.

Does it have in-house catering?

Floor 7 has kitchens and a catering area, and the venue works with approved caterers as well as its own. It also offers branding and customisation of the space.

What happens if it rains?

Floor 8 is open-air. For an event at risk of rain, we plan floor 7 as the main space or the fallback.
