What is Matadero Madrid?
It is the former municipal slaughterhouse, a complex of brick and ceramic-tiled halls from the early 20th century beside the Manzanares river, now a centre for contemporary creation. It combines restored industrial architecture with cinemas, theatres, exhibition spaces and open squares. It is part of the Marca Condal venue selection in Madrid (Marca Condal is a company in our group).
It suits large-scale product launches, company conventions with an industrial look, exhibitions and trade show hospitality, presentations in a cinema and gala dinners in one of the halls.

Getting there
Matadero is at Plaza de Legazpi, 8, with further entrances from Paseo de la Chopera and Madrid Río. Legazpi metro station (lines 3 and 6) is right next door and several EMT bus routes stop nearby. Atocha, with AVE high-speed trains, is a short car or taxi ride away.
Production tips
- Coexisting with the programme. This is a cultural centre open to the public. Agree entrances, set-up times and private areas with Madrid Destino.
- The halls are produced from scratch. They are empty shells: flooring, lighting, climate control and toilets may need supplementing depending on the hall and the season.
- Use the square. The outdoor areas work for receptions, food trucks or a light installation at dusk.
- The Cineteca for content. A presentation in a cinema, with good projection and sound, followed by drinks in another hall is a very effective format.
