The Real Fábrica de Tapices is a royal manufactory founded in the 18th century that still weaves and restores tapestries and carpets. Its premises on Calle de Fuenterrabía, near Atocha, combine workshops, looms and historic collections. That context of craftsmanship is its great value for a brand.

Getting there
The address is Calle de Fuenterrabía 2. It is a few minutes on foot from Atocha station, served by AVE high-speed trains, Cercanías and metro, and close to Retiro Park. The nearest metro is Menéndez Pelayo (line 1). It is a residential street: coaches stop on a nearby main road and the group walks the last stretch.
Production tips
- It is a working workshop. Looms, tapestries and collections shape guest routes, lighting and catering. Everything is agreed with the factory to protect the pieces.
- A guided tour as a welcome. A short explanation of the craft before drinks gives meaning to the place and to the brand's message.
- Office hours. The factory is open for enquiries Monday to Friday, 10 am to 2 pm. Plan the technical site visit with time to spare.
- Warm lighting. Tapestries and timber look best under controlled light. Avoid heat sources and direct spotlights on the pieces.
